Yasmine Borno

Yasmine Borno is the founder of Hayati, a modern Palestinian food brand based in Los Angeles. After nearly a decade in the food industry, with time at Thrive Market, she noticed a gap that no one was filling: Arabic food brands that felt bright, beautiful, and modern.

In April 2025, she launched Hayati with its debut product, a premium Green Za'atar. The name means "my life" in Arabic. Za'atar is at the heart of every Palestinian home, and Yasmine wanted to give it the packaging and storytelling it deserved — something that felt as considered and culturally proud as the world's most iconic food brands. The thyme comes from Jenin, Palestine. The blend is made by a spice family in Jordan whose shop her great-grandfather, Baba Yousef, used to visit in Yafa.

Sarah Ben Romdane

Born in Paris to Tunisian and Syrian parents and raised in London, Sarah Ben Romdane founded KAÏA to reconnect with her Mediterranean roots and honour her family’s olive oil legacy.

After a career in journalism and editorial consulting, Sarah returned to Tunisia, where she rediscovered the beauty of slow living and the land her family has called home for generations.

KAÏA was born from that connection — a celebration of Tunisian terroir, family heritage and the power of food to bring people together.

Today, Sarah works to spotlight Tunisia’s exceptional olive oil and the rural communities behind it, sharing a taste of her heritage with the world.

Yasmeen Abouremeleh

Founded in 2024 by Palestinian mother-and-daughter duo Yasmeen Abouremeleh and Suzanne, YA ALBI was born from a desire to honour their heritage and keep a tangible connection to home.

Their family was displaced from Palestine in 1969, and today, their olive oil carries that story forward. Produced in the West Bank and sourced directly from Palestinian farmers, YA ALBI is rooted in tradition, community and a deep love for the land.

Rich, robust and slightly peppery, every bottle is a celebration of Palestinian olive oil — its history, its people and the enduring spirit of the olive trees.

A taste of home, shared with love.
